A top brain research institute has been left in chaos after unproven allegations of research misconduct and the suspension of the scientist who pointed colleagues towards the allegations.

Professor Simon Gandevia, a co-founder of NeuRA and its deputy director, was suspended and asked to leave the premises on Wednesday, after he emailed colleagues asking them to look into allegations of research misconduct against the institute’s CEO, Professor Matthew Kiernan, AM.
