Starbucks is cutting about 900 non-retail jobs and shutting down select stores in the US and Canada as part of its turnaround strategy.

The Seattle-based coffee chain said affected employees will be notified of their layoffs on Friday and confirmed that an unspecified number of North American stores will be closed in the coming days.
