Chandigarh (22.09.2025): Brijendra Singh , a former IAS officer and former Congress MP from Hisar, has got a relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court when the plea of BJP MLA from Uchana Assembly constituency in Jind district Devender Chattar Bhuj Attri demanding dismissal of Singh's amended election petition was rejected. The matter of rejected votes will be heard on September 23, 2025. Brijendra lost the tightly contested October 2024 assembly poll by just 32 votes. Of the total 1,377 postal votes received, 215 postal ballots were declared invalid by the returning officer (RO), 1,158 were held to be valid and counted, and out of these, 636 votes were polled in favour of Brijendra Singh.
