Continuous rainfall since early Friday morning has thrown traffic out of gear across the capital of Odisha, Bhubaneswar, causing severe congestion and delays on major routes. The persistent downpour has led to widespread waterlogging, disrupting normal life and making commuting a challenge for residents.
Several key roads, including the stretch from Jaydev Vihar to Nandankanan, reported heavy traffic jams, with vehicles moving at a snail’s pace during peak hours. Commuters have voiced frustration over prolonged travel times and the lack of proper drainage in several low-lying areas.
The situation was further compounded by a low-pressure system in the region and the implementation of a traffic advisory issued ahead of the Durga Puja festivities.
