Hiding under his girlfriend's bed sheets in a "blatant" breach of court orders has done little to help an inmate avoid conviction.

The man, who cannot be named for the protection of the victim, appeared by audio-visual link from prison to be sentenced in Bathurst Local Court on August 27, 2025.

The man pleaded guilty to two charges of contravening an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO).

He is in custody for unrelated matters.

Two months after an ADVO had been served on the man, police went to a home in Kelso on August 18, 2025 around 7am to do a compliance check, court documents state.

The man's girlfriend - and victim in the matter - answered the door and said her boyfriend was inside.
