NEW YORK — Nolan McLean has not even been in a Mets uniform for more than six weeks but he is already tasked with serving as the equalizer in the club's rotation.
Every start has felt big for McLean. There has been a trip to Atlanta, two matchups with the Phillies , another with the Tigers, all with the Mets fighting for their playoff lives.
Thursday presented the latest obstacle: help the Mets keep their grip on the final National League Wild Card spot in the historic, ivy-lined confines of Wrigley Field.
