Hyderabad authorities have issued a flood warning as Osman Sagar and Himayath Sagar reservoirs discharge a combined 12,000 cusecs due to ongoing rains. Citizens are advised to stay alert and avoid low-lying areas to ensure safety

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on Friday issued a flood warning after the twin reservoirs of Osman Sagar and Himayath Sagar discharged 12,000 cusecs.

“Due to rainfall and forecast, it is informed that the discharge from Himayath Sagar will be increased to 5,000 cusecs and from Osman Sagar, will be increased to 7,000 cusecs from 1 pm onwards. The combined discharge from both reservoirs will be 12,000 cusecs,” HMWSSB said in a statement.
