Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy visited the vehicle driving training centre at Mudipu Fazir, which was inaugurated in 2022. He said the centre offers a one-month training program, with practical sessions supported by providing a lorry or heavy vehicle.

The centre has hostel facilities for 50 trainees, though currently no one stays there as all trainees commute daily. Candidates not only from Mangaluru but also from other districts can avail training here. Support will also be sought from the Skill Development Corporation, he added.

At present, training is available for light motor vehicles and heavy vehicles. Soon, one-day training for two-wheeler learner’s test practice will also be introduced.
