LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is joining a coalition of 22 attorneys general in filing a motion for a preliminary injunction to block the Trump Administration from cutting federal funding to Planned Parenthood.

The motion seeks to prevent the enforcement of the ‘Defund Provision included in the recently enacted federal budget bill.

This provision excludes certain health centers, including Planned Parenthood, from receiving federal Medicaid reimbursements for any health care services.

These health centers provide essential care to low-income patients, including cancer screenings, testing, and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and access to birth control.
