GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Kids from 13 states are gathering at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds to show off their best show animals for the 98th Aksarben Stock Show.

The show will feature a variety of contests for the best show cattle, pigs and sheep throughout the weekend.

The Aksarben Stock Show began in Omaha in 1927, as a way to celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage. The show then moved to Grand Island in 2017 because of the state of the art facilities developed for the Nebraska State Fairgrounds. The stock show moved under the Knights of Aksarben and the Aksarben Foundation.

Marketing director Courtney Glock said the kids put in a lot of work throughout the year to ensure their animals are ready for the show.
