Despite persistent heavy rainfall across Odisha and a developing low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, the state is not facing an immediate flood threat, according to Chief Engineer Chandra Sekhar Padhi.

As a precautionary measure, 20 gates of the Hirakud dam have been opened, releasing 5.78 lakh cusecs of water at Mundali.
