Silver Price Today: MCX silver futures (December 5) soared to an all-time high of Rs 1,40,845 in the final hours of the evening session on Friday. The near-month white metal contract surged by as much as Rs 3,789 , or 2.8 per cent, to the unprecedented intraday level. The December contract has gyrated in a range of Rs 4,341 -- between Rs 1,36,504 and Rs 1,40,845 -- so far.

Most analysts attribute the upmove in silver rates to a combination of factors, including industrial demand, supply shortages, central bank buying, technical support and exchange-traded fund (ETF) buying.
