Hollywood has a new bromance.

Glen Powell revealed in a recent interview that Tom Cruise has been a great "resource" for the actor throughout his rise to fame.

Powell, 36, worked with Cruise on "Top Gun: Maverick" and has since mirrored the "Mission: Impossible" star an actor in the industry, cast as both a romantic lead and a rugged action hero. Now, playing Chad Powers in the eponymous show on Hulu, Powell said he consulted Cruise about how to stick the landing on the heavy prosthetic makeup the role requires.

"Tom was extremely helpful in helping to not go down the wrong path in terms of the prosthetics," Powell told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published Sept. 25. "He was, as is with a lot in my life, he was my first call."

On the Hulu show, Powell plays disgraced football player Russ Holliday, who goes undercover as "Chad Powers" for a second shot at the game. The show's characters are based originally on an ESPN Spoof Video starring Eli Manning.

"Very early on we were breaking the show, I was like, 'OK, how do you actually get away with this?'" Powell said, revealing he asked Cruise about Les Grossman, a character from the movie "Tropic Thunder" for whom he had to use heavy special-effects makeup.

In his Cruise comments, Powell also shared the nickname he calls the veteran actor.

"I definitely always use him as a resource," Powell added. "He's kind of played every character in the book. So on the prosthetics, he really kind of pointed us in the right direction to make sure he was really gonna work.

"Because if you don't buy the fact that the world believes that this is a real human, the whole experiment falls apart. So yeah, we thank TC for that," he said.
