U.S. President Donald Trump speaks to the media from the White House on Friday. He has ramped up attacks on his perceived enemies in recent weeks.

Donald Trump says former FBI director James Comey is a “DIRTY COP” who must pay “a very big price” in an escalation of the U.S. President’s campaign of revenge against his perceived enemies.

Mr. Comey was charged late Thursday for allegedly lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation, and promptly proclaimed his innocence.

The charges against Mr. Comey follow a public demand from Mr. Trump that Attorney-General Pam Bondi take action against Mr. Comey and two other people Mr. Trump has long disliked. Just days before, Mr. Trump installed a White House lawyer as a federal prosecutor overseeing the case.
