Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has every confidence that last year’s Player of the Year, Daizen Maeda, will get back to his best after a tough start to the season.
The Japan forward was in sensational form in the second half of the 24/25 campaign, scoring 33 goals in all competitions as he helped the Hoops cruise to the league title and reach the knockout stages of the Champions League.
However, he has struggled to reach the same levels in the early stages of this season and revealed last month that he had his heart set on a move away in the summer, but the club blocked any transfer.
He was hooked at half-time during the 1-1 draw with Red Star Belgrade midweek, with his replacement Kelechi Iheanacho scoring Celtic’s goal.
