New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday that 27 Indian nationals are presently serving in the Russian army.

The MEA said, “Recently, some Indians have joined the Russian Army, and we came to know about it from their families. We are in close touch with their family members in this matter.

It added, “We have strongly urged the Russian government to free them from the army. We once again strongly advise all Indian nationals to stay away from offers being made to serve in the Russian army, as they are fraught with danger and risk to life.”
