Bhubaneswar: The well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression on Friday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The system over northwest and adjoining central Bay of Bengal moved west-north-west-wards, concentrated into a depression and lay cantered at 5.30 pm over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off South Odisha- North Andhra Pradesh coasts. ADVERTISEMENT
The depression lay around 60 km south-southeast of Puri, 130 km east of Gopalpur, 130 km south-southwest of Paradip in Odisha and 230 km east-northeast of Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
It is very likely to continue to move nearly westwards and cross South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puri and Kalingapatnam close to Gopalpur around morning of S
