President Donald Trump is attending the Ryder Cup in New York, a U.S. versus Europe golf tournament that occurs every other year.

The president is making it a quick trip. He is set to arrive in Long Island shortly after 11 a.m. and head to the Bethpage Black Course for the tournament. He is scheduled to return to the White House by 5 p.m.

Trump has frequented several high-profile sporting events, from the Super Bowl to the Daytona 500, but at the Ryder Cup, he will get to watch the sport he plays most: golf.

The Trump Organization owns more than a dozen golf courses around the world, and Trump is no stranger to their manicured greens, even as he runs the country. He has been back in office for just over eight months now. How often has he golfed?

How much golf has Trump played as 47th president?

A Sept. 1 White House pool report stated Trump had visited his own golf courses 66 days of his presidency to play golf. A review of his schedule posted by Roll Call Factbase shows he has spent four days at his golf clubs since then, not including late-night arrivals. Assuming he golfed every day he was at his golf course, he has golfed 28% of the days in this presidency.

When is Trump going to the Ryder Cup? Will granddaughter Kai Trump be there?

Air Force One touched down in Farmingdale, New York, shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, according to the pool report.

"I heard the team is not doing so well. So when I heard that, I said, let's get on the plane. We have to fly and help them," Trump told reporters. However, he has been planning this trip for quite a while.

His granddaughter Kai Trump was flying with him, the report states. Kai Trump, 18, is a golf star herself with brand deals. Based in the Palm Beach area of Florida, she has committed to playing golf at the University of Miami after graduating.
