DETROIT – It didn’t matter to Michal Postova that it was just a preseason game Thursday, he was excited to be in goal for the first time against an NHL team.
The 23-year-old from Czechia wasn’t tested often but stopped all 10 shots he faced over the final 29 minutes and all three shooters in the shoot-out in the Detroit Red Wings’ 5-2 victory over the Buffalo Sabres at Little Caesars Arena.
“I don’t think I’m thinking about it’s preseason or (regular) season,” Postava said. “I try 100 percent every game. So, I’m happy. Works well today and need to continue in this work and be better and better every day.”
The Red Wings signed Postava to a two-year entry-level contract in the offseason after he led Kometa Brno to the Czech Extraliga championship.
