OCEAN CITY — For a moment on Thursday, City Council seemed poised to approve a resolution sending to the Planning Board the question of whether the former Wonderland amusement park should be declared a redevelopment zone.
Instead, council voted 5-1 to table the motion, with no timeline to bring it back for a vote.
Council member Pete Madden, the lone vote in favor of the resolution two weeks ago, sought a new vote. Some members of council backed the resolution, although Madden was again a lone vote, this time against the motion to table.
“So we’re going to wait another five, 10 years until we get somebody who wants to build an amusement park, and we get a really blighted area?” Councilman Dave Winslow said.
