“Farmers’ children must feel that farming is possible and profitable and should be proudly farming instead of shunning cultivation. This objective is driving us,” said Kalyani Shinde, Founder of Godaam Innovations and winner of the Young Changemaker Award adding that farmers must get recognition for the work they do.

Kalyani won the award for establishing Godaam Innovations — India’s first IoT-based onion storage solution device that monitors the microclimate of onion warehouses and tracks temperature, humidity and gases emitted during the early stages of spoilage. The device helps farmers to detect the waste in its early stages and they could save most of their crop from sprouting and decaying.
