Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Navi Mumbai International Airport and the final phase of Metro-3, along with key stretches of the city’s metro expansion, on October 8 and 9.

Earlier, reports had suggested that the inauguration was scheduled for September 30, but the programme has now been confirmed for the second week of October, coinciding with the Prime Minister’s participation in the International Fintech Festival in Mumbai .

With the inauguration of the final phase of Metro-3, the 33.5 km Colaba–Bandra–SEEPZ Metro-3 line will become fully operational.

The first phase (Aarey to BKC) was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in October 2024, followed by the second phase (BKC to Acharya Atre Road/Worli Naka) in May 2025.
