Helicopter circled over Bristol in hunt for 'youth' on green motorbike

A police helicopter circled around South Bristol to hunt for a "youth with a knife" who was riding a green motorbike earlier this afternoon (Friday, September 26).

Avon and Somerset Police received a 999 call from a mum who claimed she and her children were threatened by a "youth with a knife" at Broadwalk Shopping Centre, Knowle , at around 1.40pm.

Due to the mention of a knife, firearms officers were deployed to the shopping centre and surrounding area, in addition to a National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter, which was deployed from the Almondsbury base. View 2 Images

NPAS said that the helicopter was deployed at 2.03pm.
