(KRON) -- Skyline High School in Oakland was placed on lockdown Friday morning after police received a report of a possible student with a gun on campus. Oakland Police Assistant Chief James Beere said the 911 call came in shortly after 8 a.m. and police responded quickly.

Skyline is located at 12250 Skyline Boulevard.

No gun has been found at this time, and no surveillance footage has captured a student brandishing a gun, according to Beere.

Students, including those who may have been involved, are cooperating police said.

Police are still in the process of searching the school out of a "complete abundance of caution," Beere said, adding that there "does not appear to be any merit" to the report.
