Greater Sudbury Police have charged a boater in relation to a collision that killed a teacher swimming in Lake Nepahwin in August.
Police announced on Friday that officers with the Integrated Traffic Safety Unit charged a man, 67, with operating a vessel in an unsafe manner under the Canada Shipping Act .

Violations of the act can result in fines, imprisonment, or both. The specific penalties often depend on the severity of the offence and may be stipulated in the Canada Shipping Act or the Contraventions Regulations.
The accused has been issued a summons to appear in court on Dec. 2 to answer the charge, police said in a release.
