The term "Dad Rock" was popularized in the late 2000s by music critic Rob Mitchum when he reviewed a Wilco Album. It has become something of a joke to suggest that people of a certain age become set in their ways regarding music taste, but it has evolved into an accolade for many fathers who embrace the term with the music they love. "Dad Rock" will evoke a specific set of names: Led Zeppelin , Pink Floyd , The Eagles , Guns ‘n’ Roses , Bruce Springsteen , all the way up to Pearl Jam .
