The Queen’s Gaels head into their Ontario University Athletics football game against the York Yeomen on Saturday at Richardson Stadium without their defensive leader, all-Canadian linebacker Justin Pace.
Pace will be serving a one-game suspension for his head-high tackle on Warriors quarterback Nick Orr in the Gaels’ 58-18 victory at Waterloo’s homecoming game.
Queen’s was already rolling over the Warriors in the final seconds of the first half when Pace hit Orr and left him lying motionless on the field. Flags were thrown. Pace was ejected from the game and a small melee ensued. And really the only questions at the time were the day Pace’s suspension would be announced and the length of the sentence.
At his press availability Thursday, Queen’s coach Steve Snyder didn’t take any issue
