President Donald Trump got the Ryder Cup crowd rocking on Friday when Air Force One flew over Bethpage Black. Trump and granddaughter Kai then greeted Bryson DeChambeau as he came out of the tunnel with partner Ben Griffin for the afternoon four-ball session.
After shaking hands with DeChambeau, the president then escorted his friend to the first tee. Jim "Bones" Mackay noted in USA's TV coverage that Trump was wearing golf shoes at Bethpage Black and that his granddaughter said if the U.S. doesn't get going this afternoon, the president might have to play.
Both U.S. captain Keegan Bradley and U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun did the Trump dance on the first while Scottie Scheffler gave a fist pump. Scheffler said earlier this week that Trump often sends him a text or calls after his victories.
