PITTSBURGH —

Tens of thousands of people will participate in the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race.

Brian Katze, the race director, explained that people from all around the area will go downtown to participate. Advertisement

"90% of our runners are local, but also we draw from over 40 states and several countries, which is just a testament of what the event means to the city and the region," he said.

The festivities kick off Saturday morning with the junior great race for kids 12 and younger.

Then Sunday, The Great Race features the state's largest 10K and a 5K.

The best part is: the course is mostly downhill and designed for everyone.
