A man in Oklahoma is accused of trying to steal his mother's car and smashing her head against the dashboard and attempting to light her hair on fire in order to do so.

Donald Chadwell, 48, was arrested on Sept. 19 for domestic assault or battery , according to an arrest report obtained by Law&Crime. The Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office is considering charges.

It was just after 6 p.m. that evening when police arrived at 700 Country Club Drive in Edmond, Oklahoma, due to reports of a domestic disturbance. One of the people who called 911 was the alleged victim, a 74-year-old woman and the mom of the suspect, local CBS affiliate KWTV reported .

The woman said her son was "attacking" her while she was inside her car — attempting "to set her hair on fire" and "steal her car." Acco
