New Delhi: A brainfade moment took place in the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka Super 4 clash at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday, September 26. Varun Chakarvarty came into the attack to bowl the 10th over, and Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera were at the crease.
Varun started his run-up to deliver the ball, but the on-field umpire signaled dead ball before Varun bowled, but the leg-spinner was in motion and didn’t see the umpire’s signal and bowled the ball to Nissanka.
The Sri Lankan opener smashed the ball onto long-on, and Axar Patel palmed it over his head and helped the ball go over the boundary for a six. But on-field umpire Izatullah Safi signalled the delivery as a dead ball because Abhishek Sharma was not on the field by the time the ball was delivered.
