MOSCOW, Idaho — A man sustained "significant injuries" in a reported assault on the University of Idaho's campus Wednesday night.
According to the Moscow Police Department, officers responded to reports of a battery at Idaho Avenue and Deakin Avenue on the U of I campus at around 8:53 p.m. Wednesday.
Arriving officers found a man who sustained "significant injuries." The man, identified as 26-year-old Austen Dawson, had to be life-flighted to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Lewiston.
Dawson's parents, Amy and Adam Dawson, say Austen is currently in a medically induced coma and his face is nearly unrecognizable.
The Dawsons say that due to Austen's injuries to his brain, they can't touch him or talk to him, but doctors say he is in stable condition.
