Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao strongly condemned the arrest of activist Sonam Wangchuk in Leh on Friday. Wangchuk was spearheading an agitation over the demands of Statehood and Sixth Schedule status for Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh.
Rama Rao termed the arrest “shameful and illegal”, stating that Wangchuk is a patriotic citizen standing up for what he believed in.
“It is our right in a democracy to question the government’s heavy-handed actions,” he affirmed, extending his support to Wangchuk.
