BIG SKY — For nearly a decade, Big Sky has been hammering away at becoming one of the nation’s top ski resorts, and this season it’s reaching yet another literal high point with the opening of the Kircliff observation platform at the summit of Lone Mountain.
Part of the resort’s Big Sky 2025 vision, the Kircliff project debuts alongside the new Explorer Gondola, giving skiers, snowboarders and sightseers a true base-to-summit experience. Visitors will be able to ride from the village to the 11,116-foot peak (with a short transfer) and step onto a glass-walled platform with 360-degree views of three states and two national parks.
