AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Ironman 70.3 triathlon returns to Augusta on Sunday, and organizers announced Friday it will be here for at least the next five years.

They made the announcement during a news conference Friday afternoon.

The competition is Sunday, and it will affect traffic in the area.

The triathlon begins at 7 a.m., but traffic will be affected from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The triathlon will begin with a 1.2-mile swim from the Sharon Jones Amphitheater in North Augusta to the Fifth Street Marina in downtown Augusta.

The latest sighting was Thursday morning near Warrenville Elementary School in Aiken County. Aiken County Public Schools sent out an email about it.
