At a meeting on Sept. 22, council selected the “call for nominees” method to fill the vacancy, rather than hold a by-election.

Applications are now open to eligible electors who are interested in serving their community as a council member.

Applicants must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age, reside in Meaford (or be an owner or tenant of land in Meaford, or the spouse of an owner or tenant), and not otherwise be disqualified by law from holding municipal office.
