OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. — Shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday, deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for a shooting in Georgetown Township in the 100 block of Brookmeadow Court. When they arrived, they found 52-year-old Elieser Lores Montano dead.
An autopsy determined Montano's death was a homicide, caused by a gunshot wound. Now, his 49-year-old wife is in custody and awaiting criminal charges in the incident.
The sheriff's office said they believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic situation. Captain Jake Sparks said both the husband and wife are known to the sheriff's department for prior domestic history.
The sheriff's office is not releasing the wife's name, pending formal charges. They are continuing to investigate and ask that anyone with information
