NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department is now a fully staffed law enforcement agency.

The police department has hit its goal of 315 staffed officers.

Assistant Chief Scott Perry says that the department lost some of its staff when COVID-19 hit in 2020.

These past few months, the force has made an effort to recruit not only officers but also civilian workers.

Perry says that they showed the community the culture they cultivated, and it attracted people.
