Canada Post workers nationwide are striking for the second time in less than a year. About 75 employees were picketing outside the large processing facility on Highbury Avenue Friday morning when The Free Press stopped by. Here are five things to know about the strike that has halted mail delivery in London and across the country.

In a statement Thursday, Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) president Jan Simpson described “massive changes” to the government’s mandate for Canada Post and called “huge service cutbacks to the public” an “outrage.”

Among the changes irking the union is a plan to end door-to-door mail delivery for almost all households within the next 10 years.
