CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - New leads in a cold case nearly 50 years old could be on the way after 19 Investigates started asking questions about a young man found murdered in Brecksville back in 1976.

He was as young as 18 years old. All of these years later, he remains a John Doe.

19 Investigates found old evidence and new technology could help solve the case in our latest episode of Unidentified.

Back in Freburary 1976, two surveyors were working on a property on a warm day just off I-77 in Brecksville, when they found mostly skeletal human remains in the woods just north of Miller Road.

Police found the young man had been shot and stabbed twice in the chest.

One navy tennis shoe was discovered 11 feet away.
