AUBURN, Ala. (WHNT) — Former Huntsville High hoops standout Simon Walker had foot surgery Friday and will miss some time for the Auburn Tigers.
According to a basketball spokesperson, Walker suffered a right foot injury in practice last week and had surgery on Friday in Birmingham on that foot. He is expected to return later this season.
"Simon has been one of our most improved players since he stepped foot on campus this summer. I’m incredibly proud of the strides he’s made,” Auburn Head Coach Steven Pearl said. “This is a minor setback, and I have no doubt that he will attack his rehab just as aggressively as he attacked his development this summer.”
