BATH BEACH/BENSONHURST — STREET MILLING AND REPAVING BEGINS ON MONDAY, SEPT. 29, ON SEVERAL ROADWAYS IN BENSONHURST AND BATH BEACH, according to the Community Board 11 e-newsletter.

The city Department of Transportation will begin milling and paving several roadways during overnight hours: 86th Street between 14th and 18th avenues, on Monday, Sept. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 1; and Bay Parkway between West 9th Street and Kings Highway, on Monday, Sept. 29, and Thursday and Friday, Oct. 2-3.

During milling, the top layer of asphalt or surface of a roadway is grinded off, usually in preparation for paving. Milling is a noisy process, but is done at night to minimize any traffic disruptions; machinery is fitted with noise reduction equipment.
