Lansing — Groups advocating on behalf of Michigan teachers and public schools said Friday that they were unclear what the state's next education budget will look like, just four days before lawmakers are expected to vote on the plan.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks, D-Grand Rapids, and House Speaker Matt Hall, R-Richland Township, announced Thursday night that they had reached a deal to avoid a government shutdown and pass a budget before the new fiscal year begins Wednesday.
