WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (KKTV) - The Wheat Ridge Police Department says it is searching for a suspect accused of stealing a snake.

Police said the suspect allegedly stole a ball python from the Reptile Room on Kipling Street on Monday while an employee was helping another customer.

According to police, the employee saw something moving inside a red Target bag that she was carrying and asked her to return the snake.

The suspect then allegedly hit the employee, making this a robbery investigation, according to police.
