FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa -- The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says a person was arrested on domestic abuse charges after a child handed a note asking for help to their bus driver.
The Fayette County SO says their office received a report from Sumner-Fredericksburg School that a child had gotten on the bus and handed the driver a note that read "Call 911" on Wednesday. Deputies were dispatched to a rural Westgate residence and made contact with the parent of the child.
Authorities say an investigation revealed that the child's mother was being held against her will and had been unable to make a phone call, but was able to give the child a note asking for help. Glenroy Stefand Miller, 29, was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault and Obstructing an Emergency Communication.
