STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A person was taken to a local hospital after a vehicle overturned at a busy Grant City intersection Friday evening.

According to an FDNY spokesperson, the department received a call for the overturned auto at Hylan Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue around 5:15 p.m.

Following the crash, one individual with minor injuries was taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.

At the scene, a white Volkswagen SUV could be seen flipped onto its roof. Another car, a grey Hyundai, could be seen with visible damage to its front end in close proximity to the overturned SUV.

Traffic passing through the intersection was slowed in every direction following the collision. Those traveling on Lincoln Avenue towards Richmond Road were rerouted for a period of time.
