MONTEZUMA, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— People can have the chance to go over the river and through the woods tomorrow as part of a 5k in Vermillion County.

This 5k is being put on by the Vermillion Trail Alliance and the Parke Trail Alliance, along with the Montezuma Park Board.

The 5k will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Reeder Park in Montezuma. It is a dog-friendly event as long as the dogs stay on a leash. The Parke Vermillion Humane Society will also be there.

They will give out medals and awards to both the humans and animals that participate in the 5k. One thing that makes this 5k so unique is that part of it goes over the Wabash River on a pedestrian bridge, something that the President of the Vermillion Trail Alliance, Bill Hartman, says the Wabash River only has a couple of.
