The California Supreme Court has declined to hear a case regarding a prime plot of land in downtown Palm Springs, casting further doubt on whether a long-planned development will ever be built there.

Grit Development, which owns the 0.84-acre lot which now houses a graffiti park , appealed a June decision by the California Court of Appeals that mandated higher "prevailing" wages must be paid for work on the downtown redevelopment project, a sprawling development that transformed a mostly abandoned mall in downtown Palm Springs into a thriving commercial hub.
