The Department of Justice announced a new Memorandum of Understanding with the State of Nevada to comply on immigration enforcement.

In August, the DOJ designated Nevada and 11 other states as ' Sanctuary Jurisdictions '. But the governor's office later told 2 News Nevada that the state " Nevada is not a sanctuary state and will never be a sanctuary jurisdiction under Governor Lombardo. At Governor Lombardo’s direction, Nevada has followed all federal laws and cooperated with federal immigration authorities, and the state will continue to do so..."

The memo says that Nevada will continue to use FEMA funds to help with federal operations, including designating funds to help Nevada sheriffs who "demonstrated a commitment to facilitating operations by ICE."
