ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Georgia’s tourism industry continues to boom, setting records for the third year in a row.
Gov. Brian Kemp announced Friday that the Peach State welcomed 174 million visitors in 2024, generating more than $82 billion in economic impact. That spending supported nearly half a million jobs statewide and, according to Kemp, saved the average Georgia household more than $1,200 in taxes.
“Georgia’s scenic landscapes, cultural attractions, and vibrant communities make our state a top destination,” Kemp said.
The growth can be seen from South Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp — where international visitors travel for its natural beauty — to Atlanta, where movie fans flock to filming locations.
